That's why I said "settle." But I can't see people paying more than a few K when you can go out and cap most elites in 10 to 15 minutes, there are exceptions, especially the prophesies ones that are buried in snake dance or late in a mission, but for the most part elites are quite accessible in Factions and NF. People were bitching and complaining about having to pay gold to learn skills they already have unlocked on their account, but people are already putting high gold values on these items. That baffles me. The elite tomes are paying for convenience and will always be more than an SoC costs. The regular ones are the gold savers and will always be less than a maxed out skill cost, or 1k

Rarity doesn't matter here, it is all about utility, for whoever responded with the drop rates, etc.

Wow, I was thinking I'd just skip on hard mode and finish some other titles first...

But the drops just tipped this way into Hardcore territory.

I think I'll be trying this out as much as I can this weekend...

Don't think so.

I wonder if you will have to start from the beginning of a continent in hard mode or if you can zone into any hardmode area if you have already been there in normal mode.

On the guildwars fact sheet webpage there is a clickable picture, it shows all of the towns and misison on the map segment, clearly in hardmode. However there has been no exploring done. That is what I think it will be like in hardmode, all the outposts you already have, but a new 'fog of war'.

I'm willing to bet you shall have to start from the beginning. We shall have vital outposts with little to no traffic, otherwise.

I hope ffs that we won't have to redo the explorer in hard mode. that would be silly.

Wisdom will increase when the lockpick opens a gold chest. So they will count towards Wisdom, some times.

So if we unlock an elite skill on a priest we will be able to use it on our PVE char by buying the tome or other ways of acquiring the tome? If thats so, that means they are finding ways to incorporate PVE+PVP finally. This makes me happy.

I hope not as it cost 1k at statue. Wish it would be more like 10k so it would be more profitable to go as full party and clear whole area than being easy access for solo farmers 24/7.

"Hard mode will become available to any player who completes a campaign in the standard mode."

I wonder if that means that you simply need to complete the campaign or whether you need to gain Protector for the campaign (i.e. one requires Masters completion for every mission, one does not).

I also wonder if "completing" a campaign means doing every mission, or if it just means completion of the final mission in the campaign....

Only time can tell at this point, I guess. While it is unlikely that it will be that hard, ANet has been known to "suprise" us in the past.

My fingers are still crossed, nonetheless.

Vanquisher sounds awesome. This will really promote full team groups to do both Vanquisher+Explorer titles at the same time. I can't wait!

Oh and I just got all brand new hardware in the mail for a PC upgrade! Good timing Anet! Woot!

Well, it doesn't have to be from a priest. Since my monk has capped Feast Of Corruption, it unlocked it for my account; so using the tome on my nec will let me get FoC for him.

For all but Prophecies, getting to the final mission meant having to complete all of the missions, anyways. So I don't think it would neccesarily matter.

For the Vanquisher title, I think that a counter with the number of enemies you still have to kill would be extremely helpful! It may take a bit of the adventure out of the hunt, but if you have to kill harder enemies in the zones, that could take 1hr+. The last thing I want to do is spend all that time killing stuff only to have to go back because I missed a group of pop-ups.

Also for Vanquisher: I wonder if we'll have to kill all the enemies in each Mission? If so, it may take 2 runs to get Masters.

Finally, I'm really excited about the Tomes -- provided that they're a somewhat common drop. 10 professions * about 1000 skills total = I need A LOT of Tomes!!
